Your Filipino Professionals Association (YFPA) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and our mission is to foster professional connections, ideas and expertise to support and engage Filipino professionals in the greater San Francisco Bay Area. Our purpose is to build a stronger, well-established and respected Fil-Am business community.
YFPA believes in developing relationships. Everyday we strive to connect, educate, and serve because we want to engage and empower Filipino professionals.

YFPA President
Duties
Supervise activities of the officers
Oversee Board and Executive Committee meetings.
Work with the Vice President to ensure resolutions and amendments are implemented.
Call special meetings if needed.
Appoint committee chairs and the Vice President recommends who will serve on committees.
Assist in preparing agenda for each board meeting.
Assist in conducting new board member orientation.
Act as spokesperson for YFPA.
Consult with board members in their roles and responsibilities, and performance of overall goals and objectives
Vice President
Duties
Serve on the Executive Committee.
Carry special assignments as requested by the President.
Understand the duties of the President and be able to perform duties in the President's absence.
Participate as a vital part of board leadership.
Assist in preparing agenda for each board meeting.
Assists in conducting new board member orientation.
Ensure resolutions and amendments are implemented.
Secretary
Duties
Serve the Executive committee.
Ensure accuracy and safekeeping of all board records.
Record and review board minutes.
Assume responsibilities of the President if the President and Vice President are absent.
Provide notice of board and committee meetings when notice is required.
Schedule and calendar meetings mentioned above in an organized manner.
With Membership committee, track records of membership status
Support Elections Committee and activities
Treasurer
Duties
Maintain knowledge of the organization and personal commitment to its goals and objectives.
Maintain adequate and correct accounts of the properties and business transactions, including accounts of its assets, liabilities, receipts, disbursements, gains and losses;
Understand financial accounting for non-profit organizations and tax filing requirements
Direct potential Finance Committee.
Manage with the Finance Committee, the board's reviews of and actions related to board's financial responsibilities.
Work with the President and create appropriate financial reports that are made available and transparent to the Board on a timely basis.
Present annual budget for board approval.
Review annual audit with Board of Directors and answer questions accordingly
Report on transactions and financial condition of organization to the President, Board of Directors, and/or agent or attorney whenever requested.
Marketing Communications Director
Duties
Work with the President and executive committee to develop a marketing and communications plan and direct potential committee members.
Lead and coordinate the organization's overall marketing and communication strategy.
Collaborate closely with the Board of Directors and committees to develop and implement effective marketing and communication strategies that support our mission and goals.
Develop and communicate guidelines and timelines of all marketing requests to ensure timely delivery.
Develop and refine YFPA's communications to ensure clear, concise and consistent messaging.
Define media and public relevant public policy issues to leverage and support YFPA's mission.
Create and implement plans to market the organization to the community and general public.
Serve as chief editor for organization's press and media releases, promotional material, collateral, website, social media sites, photography and videography.
Provide public relations response to inquiries about YFPA.
Ability to coach, train, develop and support the senior team as effective spokespeople for YFPA.
Fundraising Director
Duties
Actively build relationships with professionals, community partners, and companies to promote donations and sponsorships
Create strategic plan with Board of Directors to build and increase funds raised
Direct Fundraising Committee and collaborate on all activities
Direct Fundraising Committee and collaborate for Raffle Prize Donations for fundraisers
Determine interests for potential upcoming fundraisers
Maintain donor relations and any inquiries
Track fundraising donations received
Track fundraising and report monthly to Treasurer
Monthly review of fundraising status at Board of Directors meetings
Update fundraising database accordingly on a monthly basis, track source of funds raised for each event
Community Partnerships Director
Duties
Direct Community Affairs Committee on all activities
Build strategic relationships with community partners and organizations that also support our mission, and membership and organizational goals
Maintain relationships and collaborate with community partners of organizations that can also support our mission. These can include professional associations, non-profit organizations, student organizations, businesses etc. that support our mission and goals.
Organize and coordinate volunteer events that support our mission
Direct and support recruitment of volunteers for all events
Professional Development Director
Duties
Build relationships with community partners, business partners and organizations to support our professional development efforts
Organize professional development events that support our mission and member interests
Collaborate with partners on internal and external professional development opportunities
Recruit professional development professionals to volunteer and support events
Build strategic relationships with business and community partners that can support our members professional development needs and interests
Scholarship Program Director
Duties
Oversee YFPA Scholarship Program, Committee and Volunteers
Oversee Scholarship Program requirements, recommend program improvements and changes
Create and support Scholarship Program goals and objectives for current year term
Support fundraising for scholarships
Support outreach efforts to promote scholarship program to schools, students, and community partners
Oversee Scholarship selection process for a fair review of all applicants.
Direct Scholarship Committee’s review of all applications and confirm adherence to program requirements
Collaborate with Events Director and Board to plan Scholarship Awards Ceremony
Collaborate with Marketing Communications Director and Board for media release announcement of awardees
Events Director
Duties
Support Board of Directors and Officers with event planning for all events
Research venues for events including networking mixers, professional development sessions, meetings, social events, etc.
Build relationships with venue representatives and communicate event details
Coordinate with volunteers with support of the Community Affairs committee
Coordinate with Secretary and Board of Directors to schedule events accordingly, and determine any schedule conflicts
Understand budgetary needs and stay within guidelines
Lead creative efforts on event themes
Follow up with event committee on duties assigned
Coordinate volunteers for events with support of the Community Affairs committee
Report event attendance of members and non-members
